Kai is our first Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

I have always loved Border Collies and whilst out on a walk with Poppy and my friend we came across a little ginger dog in the distance and I had no idea what it was. After my friend told me the breed I went home and did lots of research into them and in 2007 I was lucky enough to bring Kai into the family.

He's a great versatile dog with a super temperament, lots of drive and willingness to please.

He has received some gundog training in the past and will happily pick up for me.

He has also passed his KC Good Citizens Bronze & Silver but unfortunately I haven't got round to doing the Gold with him yet but I have no doubt that he could achieve it.

Kai has also been shown in the past with some nice successes and has been to Crufts but is no longer shown as he was castrated in November 2010.

Kai's most prized possession in life is his ring toy, he's rarely seen out without it.
He will retrieve it all day long and go to the ends of the earth to do so whether it be on land or in water.

Kai has got some protruding discs in his back. He has been to Fitzpatrick's Refferal Centre a few times now for examinations and MRI's. The
good news is that he hasn't got to have an operation for the next few years if at all, unless anything changes between time. His surgeon recently retested him and if anything there has been slight improvement. He thinks it's unnecessary to operate at this stage as he's not in pain and his condition is stable. We can also now go back to treating him as a normal dog so he can go back to doing all the things he loves
:-)
